Remote Project Manager - E-commerce Platform Development

Our client, a rapidly growing online retail company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Remote Project Manager to lead the development and enhancement of their e-commerce platform. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of e-commerce projects, from conceptualization and design to development, testing, and launch.

• Lead the end-to-end project management of e-commerce platform development and feature enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, and marketing teams to define project scope, requirements, and timelines.
• Manage agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews for remote teams.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, track progress against milestones, and manage project budgets.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively, ensuring timely resolution.
• Ensure clear and consistent communication among all project stakeholders, utilizing virtual collaboration tools effectively.
• Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) and oversee the smooth deployment of new e-commerce features and platforms.
• Continuously seek opportunities to optimize the e-commerce user experience and business processes.

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Marketing, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years specifically focused on e-commerce or digital platform development.
• Proven experience managing complex web development projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) in a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce technologies, platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento), and best practices.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello) and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams).
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills suitable for a remote environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
