Information Security Engineer

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically adept Information Security Engineer to join their globally distributed, fully remote team. This role is critical in implementing, managing, and monitoring security solutions to protect the organization's digital infrastructure and sensitive data. You will work on the front lines of cybersecurity defense, identifying and mitigating threats, and ensuring the integrity and availability of our systems.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM solutions.

• Perform regular vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, and assist in remediation efforts.
• Develop and implement security automation scripts to improve efficiency and response times.
• Respond to and investigate security alerts and incidents, providing timely resolution.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of security policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in information security engineering or operations.
• Proficiency with security tools and technologies, including network security, endpoint security, and cloud security concepts.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for security automation.
• Strong understanding of security principles, threat landscapes, and incident response methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
