Senior Telecoms Security Analyst

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecoms Security Analyst to join their fully remote security operations team. This position is critical for safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our client's telecommunications network and sensitive data. You will be instrumental in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats, developing robust security strategies, and responding to incidents. This remote role allows you to work from anywhere, collaborating with a world-class security team to protect vital communication infrastructure, conceptually supporting operations that extend to Nelspruit and across Mpumalanga, but delivered entirely online.

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and events to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct in-depth investigations into security incidents and breaches, determining root causes.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices for the telecoms environment .
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure.
• Design and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
• Stay abreast of emerging security threats and industry trends, providing recommendations for defense strategies.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, coordinating mitigation efforts.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, with a focus on telecoms security .
• Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCNA Security are highly desirable.
