AI Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled AI Data Engineer to join their team in Paarl , focusing on building and managing robust data infrastructure to support advanced AI & Emerging Technologies initiatives. This role is fundamental to ensuring the availability, quality, and accessibility of data required for machine learning model training and deployment. You will work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for AI/ML workloads.
• Develop and manage data warehousing solutions and data lakes to store and process large volumes of data.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Optimize data retrieval and processing for machine learning model training and inference.
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to understand data requirements and provide necessary data infrastructure support.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data technologies and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, No

• Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Python or Scala for data processing and scripting.
