Security Operations Center; SOC) Analyst

Our client is looking for a vigilant Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their security team, working a hybrid schedule from their Randburg office. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, detecting threats, and responding to security incidents in real-time. You will work with advanced Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and other security technologies to protect the organization's network and systems.

This position is essential for maintaining a strong security posture and mitigating risks in a dynamic threat environment.

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Analyze security incidents, determine their scope and impact, and initiate appropriate response actions.
• Investigate suspicious activities and perform forensic analysis when necessary.
• Develop and refine detection rules and security monitoring procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement remediation actions and enhance security controls.
• Document security incidents, analysis findings, and response efforts accurately.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a security operations or similar role.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security monitoring tools.
• Understanding of common network protocols, operating systems, and cyber threats .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work shifts if required and under pressure.
