Senior Data Scientist - AI​/ML; Hybrid

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Scientist specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join their innovative team in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA. • Design, develop, and implement cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for model training and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Develop and execute strategies for A/B testing and model validation.
• Communicate complex findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's technical growth.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML research and technologies.
• Contribute to the development of data governance and best practices.
• Optimize model performance and ensure scalability and reliability.
• Visualize data and model results effectively.

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science, with a focus on AI/ML.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Strong understanding of various machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib).
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
