Telecommunications Project Manager - Fiber Rollout

Our client, a national telecommunications infrastructure provider, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Telecommunications Project Manager to lead critical fiber optic rollout projects. This role is a fully remote position, enabling you to manage projects from the comfort of your home office anywhere within South Africa . You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex fiber network deployment projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Manage all phases of fiber optic network rollout projects, including scope definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, identifying critical path activities and resource requirements.
• Coordinate and lead project teams, including engineers, technicians, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure strict adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
• Communicate project status, updates, and key decisions to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Oversee vendor selection and contract management, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project participants.
• Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned for future projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on fiber optic deployments.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies, network infrastructure, and deployment methodologies.
• Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile).
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is highly desirable.
