Technical Support Engineer

• Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for a range of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
• Diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues for enterprise clients.
• Respond to support requests via phone, email, and remote access tools, prioritizing and managing incidents effectively.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.
• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software as per client requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and knowledge base articles.
• Conduct remote system diagnostics, performance monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
• Assist in the planning and execution of IT system upgrades and migrations.
• Provide training and guidance to clients on the use of supported technologies.
• Ensure adherence to IT security policies and best practices in all support activities.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical support, system administration, or a related IT engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues related to operating systems (Windows, Linux), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical users.
• Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, CCNA, or MCSA are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Must be based in or have strong connections to the George, Western Cape area for potential on-site support needs.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell, Python) is a plus.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
