Blockchain Data Scientist

Our client, an innovative analytics firm focused on the blockchain and cryptocurrency markets, is seeking a skilled Blockchain Data Scientist. This remote role allows you to contribute your expertise to projects supporting our operations in the Benoni, Gauteng region. You will leverage your data science prowess to extract actionable insights from complex on-chain and off-chain data, build predictive models, and develop data-driven solutions.

• Collect, clean, and process large datasets from various blockchain explorers and APIs.
• Perform in-depth exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and key metrics in blockchain activity.
• Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms for tasks such as transaction analysis, fraud detection, and market prediction.
• Design and build data pipelines for efficient data extraction and transformation.
• Visualize complex data and communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data insights into product features.
• Stay current with the latest research and techniques in data science, machine learning, and blockchain analytics.
• Develop dashboards and reports to monitor key blockchain indicators.
• Contribute to the development of data strategy and infrastructure.

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on analyzing large, complex datasets.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, including relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Num Py, Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow/PyTorch).

• Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets, and on-chain data analysis is highly desirable.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
