Senior Cloud Solutions Architect; Remote

Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS provider based in Johannesburg, Gauteng
, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join their fully remote engineering team. This critical role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructures that power our client's cutting‑edge applications. You will be instrumental in defining the cloud strategy, selecting appropriate technologies, and ensuring the optimal performance and cost‑effectiveness of our cloud environments. • Design and architect robust, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure blueprints, standards, and best practices.
• Lead the migration of on‑premises applications and infrastructure to the cloud.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Oversee cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection.
• Monitor cloud resource utilization and costs, implementing strategies for optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential application.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the cloud team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and solutions design.
• Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including services like EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes, etc.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote environment.
