Head of Digital Learning Platforms

Our client, a leading educational services provider in Rustenburg, North West , is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Digital Learning Platforms . This senior leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and operational management of all digital learning platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical acumen, educational insight, and strategic planning capabilities to ensure our client remains at the forefront of digital education.

This position requires a leader who can drive innovation, enhance user experience, and maximize the effectiveness of our digital learning ecosystem within Rustenburg .

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the organization's digital learning platforms.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
• Lead a team of platform administrators, developers, and support staff to ensure seamless operation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with academic departments to understand their needs and integrate effective digital learning solutions.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and project timelines for all platform-related initiatives.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of all digital learning infrastructure.
• Drive initiatives to enhance user engagement, accessibility, and pedagogical effectiveness across platforms.
• Monitor platform performance, analyze usage data, and generate reports to inform strategic decisions.

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managing and developing digital learning platforms, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in managing enterprise-level LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and cloud-based solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project management, and budget oversight.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
• Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
