Senior Infrastructure Architect

Our client, a well-established logistics company, is seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Architect to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape
. This role is key to designing, implementing, and managing the company's IT infrastructure to support its growing operational needs. You will be responsible for the architecture of servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. This position offers a Hybrid work arrangement, balancing the benefits of remote work with necessary on-site collaboration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure design, a strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud technologies, and excellent problem-solving skills.

• Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions, including server, network, storage, and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps and standards.
• Oversee the implementation of new infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Evaluate and select appropriate hardware, software, and cloud services.
• Ensure infrastructure meets performance, availability, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, security, and development teams to integrate infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on infrastructure-related matters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Stay current with emerging infrastructure technologies and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and design, with at least 3 years in an architecture role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing server, network, and storage solutions.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, virtualization (e.g., VMware), and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at working in a hybrid environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP, cloud certifications) are advantageous.
