Senior Information Security Analyst

Our client, a leading cybersecurity firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Information Security Analyst to join their dynamic team in Cape Town, Western Cape. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the security posture of critical systems and sensitive data. You will be instrumental in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing robust security controls, and responding to emerging threats. • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor security alerts and incident response activities, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Manage and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security is integrated into the system development lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
• Generate regular security reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on threat analysis, incident response, and security architecture.
• Proven experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Power Shell) for automation is a plus.
• Experience with risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid setting within Cape Town.
