This position sits within the Weather Product team at the National Environment Agency (NEA), which designs, builds, and continuously improves consumer and business-facing weather platforms, including weather.gov.sg and myENV. The team's goal is to become Singapore's trusted, go-to source of weather and environmental information, delivering accurate, hyperlocal, and real-time insights that help the public make more informed decisions. The role involves leading UX design across these mission-critical platforms, working alongside product managers, engineers, meteorological forecasters, and policy stakeholders.
Whatyou would do
- Lead end-to-end UX design for consumer and business-facing weather products, including weather.gov.sg and myENV
- Connect and align user journeys across multiple products within the weather pillar to create coherent, unified experiences
- Translate complex weather data, forecasts, and warnings into clear, simple, and intuitive interfaces
- Plan and conduct discovery research (interviews, usability testing, concept validation) to inform design decisions in ambiguous problem spaces
- Shape information architecture and interaction patterns that help users understand and act on weather information
- Contribute to and evolve the design system, establishing consistent UI patterns across products
- Guide stakeholders through design decisions, articulating rationale and advocating for user needs
- Drive iterative design improvements through rapid testing and feedback cycles
- Collaborate with other designers across NEA and help shape UX standards, practices, and capability over time
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5 years of experience in UX or product design, with a track record of shipping high-quality digital products
- Strong experience designing consumer-facing (B2C) digital products at scale, across web and/or mobile
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and concepts into clear, intuitive user experiences
- Experience creating and contributing to design systems
- Solid grounding in user research methods and ability to lead discovery in ambiguous problem spaces
- Strong strategic thinking: ability to design for outcomes and user behaviour, not just screens and features
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide them toward better design outcomes
- Self-directed and comfortable operating with autonomy in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Resilient and iterative approach: committed to continuous feedback and learning
