Senior DevOps Engineer

Our client, a rapidly expanding SaaS company, is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join their engineering team. This hybrid role, based in our Soweto, Gauteng office, will be instrumental in building, automating, and scaling our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD tools, containerization, and infrastructure as code.

You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our services. We are looking for a problem-solver with a passion for automation, continuous integration, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations. This is a critical role for someone looking to drive significant improvements in our software delivery lifecycle.

• Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, and implement proactive solutions.
• Automate operational tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the infrastructure and deployment process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Dev Ops tools, technologies, and methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Dev Ops or a related role (e.g., Systems Administration, Software Engineering with a focus on infrastructure).
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops).
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Power Shell.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration principles.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
