Senior Systems Administrator; Cloud Focus

Our client, a rapidly growing technology firm within the telecommunications sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator with a strong cloud focus to join their infrastructure team. This role will be pivotal in managing, maintaining, and scaling our client's cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, coupled with a deep understanding of system administration principles.

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect cloud environments and data.
• Develop and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal uptime and resource utilization.
• Manage and maintain virtualized environments and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and ensure infrastructure compatibility.
• Perform regular system updates, patching, and upgrades to maintain security and performance.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud services.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 3 years focused on cloud infrastructure management.
• Proven expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP), including services like EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, etc.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Watch).
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, essential for a remote role.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate) are highly advantageous.
