Remote Network Operations Center; NOC) Analyst

Our client, a leading telecommunications company, is expanding its Network Operations Center (NOC) and seeking a highly motivated and skilled Remote Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to network alerts and incidents across our client's national infrastructure. Your primary goal will be to ensure the continuous availability, performance, and security of the network.

This role requires a proactive approach, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. You will be a crucial part of our client's 24/7 operations, contributing to the seamless delivery of telecommunication services.

• Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated NOC tools and platforms.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents and outages promptly and efficiently.
• Respond to network alarms and alerts, performing initial troubleshooting and escalation as needed.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with Level 2 and Level 3 support teams to ensure timely resolution of complex issues.
• Perform routine network health checks and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network infrastructure, services, and technologies.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of NOC procedures and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) for incident response and resolution.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and, when necessary, with customers regarding network status and issues.

• Proven experience (1-3 years) working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar monitoring environment.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and common network services.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Solar Winds) and ticketing systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise reporting.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 operations team.
• A stable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace are mandatory for this remote role.
• Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a strong advantage.
• Experience with specific telecom technologies (e.g., MPLS, DWDM) is a plus.
