Blockchain Data Scientist

Our client is an innovative data analytics firm focused on extracting valuable insights from complex datasets within the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency and blockchain space. We are looking for a talented Blockchain Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large volumes of on-chain and off-chain data to identify trends, predict market movements, and develop data-driven strategies.

You will work with cutting-edge tools and technologies to uncover patterns and generate actionable intelligence for our clients. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data science methodologies, and a solid understanding of blockchain technology and its associated data structures. You will collaborate closely with blockchain developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful insights. The role offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute from anywhere, supporting our team based conceptually near Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA , but operating internationally.

• Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from various blockchain networks and related sources.
• Develop and implement machine learning models and statistical techniques to predict market behavior, identify anomalies, and detect fraudulent activities.
• Visualize complex data to communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate data-driven strategies.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data science models into production systems.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in data science, machine learning, and blockchain analytics.
• Contribute to the development of data-driven products and services.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on analyzing large, complex datasets.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, Num Py, Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
• Experience with SQL and No

• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and on-chain data analysis is highly desirable.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
