Endpoint Security Engineer

Our client, a prominent player in the logistics sector located in Mahikeng, North West , is seeking an experienced Endpoint Security Engineer to join their growing IT security team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing solutions that protect end-user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) from malware, unauthorized access, and other threats. You will be involved in deploying and managing endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, antivirus solutions, patch management systems, and data loss prevention (DLP) technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of endpoint vulnerabilities and defenses, with a passion for proactive security measures. This position is key to securing our client's distributed workforce and critical infrastructure within the North West province. You will play a vital role in safeguarding company data and ensuring business continuity.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoint security solutions, including EDR, antivirus, DLP, and host-based firewalls.
• Monitor endpoint security alerts and investigate potential security incidents.
• Develop and implement endpoint security policies and procedures.
• Manage endpoint patching and vulnerability remediation processes.
• Conduct security assessments of endpoint environments.
• Respond to endpoint security incidents, including malware outbreaks and unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with IT operations to ensure secure endpoint configurations and lifecycle management.
• Evaluate and recommend new endpoint security technologies and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support to end-users regarding endpoint security.
• Stay current with the latest endpoint threats and mitigation techniques.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in endpoint security management or cybersecurity operations.
• Hands-on experience with EDR solutions (e.g., Crowd Strike, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel One).
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and their security features.
• Experience with patch management systems and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Understanding of network security principles as they relate to endpoints.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Scripting skills (e.g., Power Shell, Python) are a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or endpoint-specific vendor certifications are desirable.
