Remote Project Manager - E-commerce Platforms

Our client, a fast-growing online retail innovator, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Project Manager to lead the development and enhancement of their e-commerce platforms. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of various e-commerce projects, from initial concept and requirements gathering through to deployment and post-launch support.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, digital marketing, and web development processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, marketers, and operations staff to ensure seamless integration and exceptional user experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment. The projects will focus on improving customer journeys, optimizing conversion rates, and expanding our client's online presence, ultimately contributing to significant business growth.

• Manage the full lifecycle of e-commerce platform projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among distributed team members using virtual tools.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring business continuity and success.
• Oversee user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design aspects to enhance customer journeys.
• Coordinate with development teams to implement new features and functionalities.
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations for e-commerce solutions.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance before platform launches.
• Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to senior management.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on e-commerce or digital product development.
• Proven experience managing web development projects, preferably using Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Woo Commerce), SEO, and digital marketing principles.
• Excellent remote team leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Zoom).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization is a plus.
