Remote Telecommunications Solutions Architect

Our client, a forward-thinking telecommunications company renowned for its innovative solutions, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Remote Telecommunications Solutions Architect. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for designing and developing comprehensive telecommunications solutions that meet the complex needs of our diverse client base. This includes conceptualizing end-to-end architectures, selecting appropriate technologies, and ensuring seamless integration across various platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a deep understanding of current and emerging telecom technologies, and the ability to translate business requirements into robust technical designs. Design, develop, and document end-to-end telecommunications solutions, including voice, data, and converged networks. Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to define solution requirements and scope. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, products, and services to enhance existing solutions and create competitive advantages. Develop high-level and detailed technical designs, network diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOMs). Provide technical expertise and guidance during the pre-sales and post-sales cycles.

Conduct technical feasibility studies and proof-of-concept initiatives. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and technological advancements in the telecommunications space. Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective. Present technical solutions to clients and internal stakeholders clearly and persuasively.

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in telecommunications, with at least 4 years in a solutions architect or pre-sales engineering role.
• Extensive knowledge of IP networking, VoIP, unified communications, cloud-based solutions, and mobile technologies.
• Experience with network design tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices in telecommunications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Experience with various vendor solutions (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson, Nokia) is highly advantageous.
