Senior Cloud Solutions Architect; Remote

Our client, a fast-growing innovator in cloud-native software solutions, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure solutions for our diverse client base.

This role requires deep expertise in major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with a strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, and Dev Ops practices. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and sales teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. • Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and implement cloud strategies and roadmaps.
• Develop architectural blueprints and technical designs for cloud-native applications and services.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud best practices, security standards, and cost optimization strategies.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to enhance our offerings.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge on cloud technologies and architecture.
• Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops processes.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements in the cloud environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field;
  Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
• Proven hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and containerization technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
• Experience with networking concepts, security principles, and data management in the cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Experience with Dev Ops methodologies and tools is a significant advantage.
