Senior Data Scientist - Remote Mining Analytics

This role is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will be instrumental in developing sophisticated models and algorithms to extract actionable insights from vast datasets related to exploration, production, safety, and environmental monitoring.

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms for mining applications (e.g., predictive maintenance, ore grade prediction, safety anomaly detection).
• Clean, process, and transform large, complex datasets from various mining sources (e.g., sensor data, geological logs, production reports).
• Collaborate with domain experts (geologists, engineers) to understand business problems and translate them into data science solutions.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytical workflows.
• Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and their applications in the mining industry.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance the data science capabilities.
• Ensure the ethical and responsible use of data and models.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with demonstrable experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, including relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Pandas).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large databases (e.g., SQL, No

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark) is a plus.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
