Blockchain Security Consultant

Our client, a globally recognized leader in cybersecurity for the Web3 ecosystem, is seeking a highly experienced Blockchain Security Consultant to join their team. This role is crucial for providing expert advice and technical guidance to clients on securing their blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, and decentralized applications. You will conduct in-depth security assessments, identify potential risks, and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies.

Based in the Upington, Northern Cape region, this hybrid role allows for collaboration with clients and team members while offering flexibility. • Conduct thorough security audits and penetration testing of blockchain platforms, smart contracts, and dApps.
• Analyze codebases for vulnerabilities, backdoors, and potential exploits.
• Develop and implement security best practices and guidelines for blockchain projects.
• Advise clients on secure architecture design and deployment strategies.
• Perform risk assessments and threat modeling for blockchain-based systems.
• Investigate security incidents and provide post-incident response support.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in blockchain security threats, tools, and mitigation techniques.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings and recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate with client development teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to the firm's knowledge base and develop new security methodologies.

• Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Consultant, Penetration Tester, or Security Analyst with a strong focus on blockchain and smart contracts.
• In-depth knowledge of various blockchain technologies (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana) and their security implications.
• Expertise in smart contract auditing, including languages like Solidity.
• Familiarity with common blockchain vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, 51% attacks, front-running).
• Experience with security testing tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of cryptography, network security, and system architecture.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP) are a plus.
