Remote Information Security Manager

Our client is a rapidly expanding technology firm that operates on a fully remote basis and is seeking an experienced and strategic Remote Information Security Manager . This is a crucial leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's comprehensive information security program. You will lead a distributed team, ensuring the protection of sensitive data, systems, and intellectual property across all operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, experience managing security operations in a cloud-first environment, and the ability to foster a security-aware culture among a remote workforce. • Develop, implement, and manage the company's overall information security strategy and policies.
• Oversee the security operations center (SOC) functions, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of security professionals.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate security controls.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Manage security awareness training programs tailored for a remote workforce.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and infrastructure.
• Evaluate and implement new security technologies and solutions.
• Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Report on security metrics, risks, and initiatives to executive leadership.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing security operations and incident response in a remote or distributed environment.
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security.
• Experience with security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic security plans.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience managing remote teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.
