Senior Information Security Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Information Security Manager to lead their security team in Centurion, Gauteng . This role involves a hybrid work model, requiring a balance of remote work and on-site presence. You will be responsible for developing and executing the information security strategy, managing security risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive experience in managing security operations, incident response, and security awareness programs.

This position is pivotal in safeguarding our client's information assets.

• Develop, implement, and manage the overall information security strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations (e.g., POPIA), and best practices.
• Manage and mentor the information security team, fostering a culture of security excellence.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security technologies and controls.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Manage relationships with external security vendors and auditors.
• Prepare and present security reports to senior management and the board.
• Lead security investigations and ensure timely resolution of security incidents.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive security programs.
• Strong knowledge of information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
• Expertise in risk management, incident response, and security operations.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage teams and projects effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are required.
