You will be joining an organisation in Sheffield on a long-term contract assignment, working within a hybrid arrangement of 60% office-based and 40% remote working.
Your new role
We are looking for a strong Software/Data Engineer with hands-on Azure and SRE/Dev Ops experience.
This is not a pure SRE or Dev Ops position. The role requires strong software engineering and data engineering capability, particularly Python, Azure, SQL and the development and support of data pipelines and ETL solutions.
Key responsibilities
Develop and support data pipelines and ETL solutions.
Apply strong Python software engineering skills within an Azure environment.
Work with SQL and Azure-based data engineering technologies.
Use Terraform and Infrastructure as Code approaches.
Work with CI/CD, Git and automation.
Use Linux and scripting technologies such as Bash or Power Shell.
Provide hands-on SRE/Dev Ops and production support.
Essential skills and experience
Strong Python software engineering experience.
Microsoft Azure cloud and data engineering experience.
Experience building and supporting data pipelines / ETL.
Strong SQL skills.
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
CI/CD, Git and automation.
Linux and scripting experience, including Bash and/or Power Shell.
Hands-on SRE/Dev Ops and production support experience.
Experience with one or more of the following would be beneficial:
Databricks, Azure Data Factory or Data Lake.
Kafka, Event Hubs or Spark.
Kubernetes.
Azure Monitor, Grafana or Prometheus.
Cybersecurity, SIEM/SOAR or financial services.
Cybersecurity experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
What you'll get in return
Rate of £550 per day.
The contract running until 31 August 2027.
Hybrid working arrangement of 60% Sheffield office / 40% remote.
