The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior SAN Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, administer, and optimize Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure storage availability, performance, scalability, data protection, and business continuity across enterprise systems supporting critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise SAN storage infrastructure.
- Administer storage arrays, Fibre Channel switches, host bus adapters, and storage connectivity.
- Manage storage provisioning, zoning, LUN masking, multipathing, and capacity allocation.
- Monitor SAN performance, availability, utilization, and storage health.
- Troubleshoot complex storage, connectivity, latency, and performance issues.
- Implement storage replication, snapshots, backup integration, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support business continuity planning, recovery testing, and infrastructure resilience.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Collaborate with server, virtualization, database, network, cybersecurity, and cloud teams.
- Maintain storage security, access controls, configuration standards, and technical documentation.
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend infrastructure improvements based on business requirements.
- Manage incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with IT service management procedures.
- Support virtualization platforms and enterprise workloads hosted on VMware or comparable technologies.
- Coordinate with technology vendors and service providers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Develop automation and standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, audits, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Substantial experience in enterprise storage administration and SAN infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Fibre Channel, iSCSI, zoning, LUN management, multipathing, and storage protocols.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, HPE, Net App, IBM, or Hitachi Vantara.
- Experience with SAN switches from vendors such as Brocade or Cisco.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery, replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization, Windows Server, Linux, and enterprise data center environments.
- Understanding of storage security, high availability, performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Relevant vendor certifications in storage, networking, virtualization, or data center technologies are an advantage.
- SAN infrastructure availability and reliability.
- Storage performance and incident resolution times.
- Successful completion of backup, replication, and recovery tests.
- Accuracy of capacity forecasting and utilization management.
- Compliance with security, change management, and operational standards.
- Reduction in recurring incidents and infrastructure downtime.
