EY helps utilities organizations transform their operations through innovative SAP solutions that improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support regulatory compliance. We work with clients across the utility value chain, helping them navigate complex business and technology transformations from strategy through execution.
We are seeking an SAP IS-U Data Conversion Manager to lead the end-to-end strategy and delivery of the data-conversion workstream for complex utility transformation programs. In this role, you will own migration strategy, governance, delivery, and readiness while coordinating business data owners, SAP functional teams, technical migration teams, and program leadership to deliver complete, reconciled, and supportable data loads. You will drive data quality, mock-conversion cycles, cutover execution, reconciliation, and business sign-off across the broader meter-to-cash landscape.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in Technology Analysis, you will lead SAP IS-U data-conversion work streams within complex utility transformation programs, providing functional and delivery leadership from migration strategy through production cutover and stabilization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning data-conversion strategy, scope, governance, delivery plans, and readiness for the SAP IS-U program or release.
- Defining conversion waves, object sequencing, ownership, reconciliation controls, acceptance criteria, and decision gates across utility data domains.
- Leading source-system assessments and data-quality planning with business owners, establishing remediation ownership, and resolving migration-readiness gaps.
- Setting the functional and technical approach for mapping, transformation, tooling, staging, loads, and repeatable mock-conversion cycles.
- Coordinating SAP functional leads, source-system teams, ETL developers, data stewards, business owners, and cutover leadership across meter-to-cash work streams.
- Governing mock loads, defect priorities, conversion metrics, control totals, financial and operational reconciliation, and formal sign-off.
- Owning cutover readiness, load sequencing, contingency planning, production execution coordination, and post-load validation.
- Managing team capacity, risks, scope, estimates, and executive decisions while ensuring knowledge transfer and audit-ready evidence.
Skills and attributes for success
To thrive in this role, you will need a blend of SAP utilities data-conversion expertise, delivery leadership, and stakeholder-management skills. Your ability to establish strong governance, drive decisions, and coordinate business and technology teams will be critical to delivering accurate and supportable data loads.
- Deep understanding of SAP IS-U data structures and utility data dependencies across meter-to-cash processes.
- Strong knowledge of migration strategy, data quality, mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and cutover controls.
- Ability to translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into practical conversion rules and acceptance criteria.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage dependencies across business, functional, technical, ETL, testing, and cutover work streams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present conversion status, risks, and decisions to both business and technology stakeholders.
