Description

Empower Strategies is hiring on behalf of a leading political and public affairs agency based in Arlington, Virginia. The agency specializes in integrated communications campaigns spanning public affairs, corporate communications, digital strategy, advertising, and media buying.

We are seeking a motivated, technically skilled IT & Business Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day technology support, troubleshoot technical challenges, and help maintain efficient business operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional with 3–4 years of experience who is ready to take greater ownership of technical operations, lead internal technology initiatives, and continue developing your skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Are you looking for:

  • An opportunity to apply your technical expertise across IT support, systems administration, and business operations?
  • A hands‑on role where you can troubleshoot technical challenges, improve internal processes, and support employees across an organization?
  • A position that offers ownership of technical projects, exposure to a variety of technologies, and opportunities for professional growth?

If so, this could be a great fit.

As an IT & Business Operations Manager, you will serve as a key resource for the agency's technology needs, providing day-to-day technical support, maintaining essential systems, and coordinating with internal and external technology teams. You will play an important role in ensuring employees have the tools, access, and technical support necessary to work efficiently and securely.

Requirements

Your day in this position may include:

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting hardware, software, computer systems, and business applications to resolve employee issues efficiently.
  • Managing technology onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup, account provisioning, access management, and new employee orientations.
  • Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting audiovisual systems and conference room technology for internal and client meetings.
  • Supporting hardware and software upgrades, system enhancements, and other technology‑related projects.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact between the agency and its parent company's IT team to resolve technical issues, coordinate support requests, and maintain compliance with established technology and security standards.
  • Assisting with technology asset management, system maintenance, and process improvements to support operational efficiency.
  • Providing additional business operations and administrative support as needed.

This job may be for you if you have:

  • 3–4 years of experience in IT support, help desk operations, desktop support, or a similar technical support role.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent technical certifications and relevant professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, and related tools.
  • Experience working with IT service management and ticketing platforms such as Jira, Service Now, Zendesk, or similar systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and user‑access issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple support requests and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical employees.
  • Experience collaborating with employees at all levels of an organization, as well as external vendors and technology partners.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and adapt to changing technical and operational needs.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information, sensitive data, and employee access.
  • A proactive, service‑oriented approach and a willingness to take ownership of technical challenges from start to resolution.
Benefits

The budgeted salary is $70,000 and there is an opportunity for a year‑end bonus. Medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance. We also offer a paid parental leave program, paid vacation and paid sick leave. In addition, we have a work from home hybrid environment.
