Lead Business Intelligence Engineer

Apex Systems is hiring a Lead Business Intelligence Engineer for a large Healthcare client.

Location:

Fully remote anywhere in the US - you must be Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

We are seeking two Lead Business Intelligence Engineers to augment our reporting and analytics team. In this role, you will be instrumental in increasing the team's delivery capacity across a growing portfolio of Power BI and analytics initiatives. You will support active project delivery, reporting modernization, and stakeholder demand by designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models supporting Healthcare Quality, HEDIS, Pharmacy (Rx), and Medical Claims initiatives.
• Extend existing analytic products and partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable reporting solutions.
• Develop and optimize DAX, SQL, and data models for performance.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to leverage Snowflake and other enterprise data sources.
• Support testing, deployments, issue resolution, and ongoing enhancements.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and best practices guidance to team members.
• Deliver high-quality reporting and analytics solutions on schedule.
• Build scalable, performant, and maintainable Power BI assets.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree is required.

• Advanced Power BI development and architecture, including advanced DAX, mixed semantic models, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization.
• Experience with large-scale analytical data warehouses.
• Experience with HEDIS/Quality reporting and Pharmacy (Rx) and Medical Claims data.
• Familiarity with provider, member, and measure-based reporting.

• Power BI certification is preferred.
• Experience with Snowflake is preferred.
• Experience with in a healthcare payer environment is preferred.
