Help financial institutions navigate one of the largest IRS electronic filing changes in decades while supporting critical tax reporting processes used by banks and credit unions nationwide.

As a Technical Application Support Analyst on the jhaFileSmart team, you will play a key role in processing, validating, transmitting, and troubleshooting electronic tax reporting files. You will work directly with financial institutions, potentially third-party vendors, and internal teams to investigate filing issues, analyze IRS acknowledgements, and help customers successfully meet regulatory filing deadlines.

This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Springfield, MO or Monett, MO.

All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.

• Process and monitor electronic tax file submissions to the IRS.
• Review IRS acknowledgements, rejections, and accepted-with-error responses.
• Troubleshoot file validation, formatting, transmission, and processing issues.
• Analyze file processing results and identify corrective actions.
• Document findings, resolutions, and customer communications.
• Partner with operations, development, product, and support teams to resolve client-impacting issues.
• Support customers during critical filing periods and tax reporting deadlines.
• Assist with testing activities related to IRS regulatory changes and system enhancements.
• May perform other job duties as assigned.

• 3+ years of experience in technical support, application support, implementation, or backroom bank operations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working directly with customers to resolve technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak tax reporting periods as business needs dictate.

• Experience with XML, CSV, or file-based data processing.
• Financial services or fintech experience.
• Experience supporting regulatory or compliance-related products.
• Knowledge of electronic filing processes or IRS reporting requirements.
• Experience with secure file transfers and data validation.
