Role OverviewThe Technical Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day delivery management of a complex, multi-workstream enterprise software implementation for a fast-paced client. This role runs the full delivery team (both onshore and offshore) ensuring sprint cadence, risk management, stakeholder communication, and delivery governance operate smoothly across all phases. The ideal candidate is highly resourceful and comfortable pushing back when necessary to maintain scope, timelines, and project integrity.
Working under the direction of the Program Manager, the Project Manager serves as the operational hub of the engagement. You will own the program plan, track issues and risks, coordinate with the technology implementation team on dependencies, and contribute to both internal and client-facing status reporting.
This is a full-time W2 position (can also be contracted through your company if preferred) on a fixed-term engagement currently ending March 2027, with a possibility of converting into a permanent role based on performance and client needs. This role is work-from-home (remote) though must be able to commute to client offices in Falls Church, VA as needed (estimated every 2 weeks).
Responsibilities
As the Project Manager, you will lead daily execution, drive cross-functional alignment, and enforce project governance. Your primary duties include:
- Delivery Team & Schedule Management:
Own day-to-day project tracking across all work streams, maintaining the program plan, monitoring milestones, and flagging risks or schedule variances to the Program Manager. Direct onshore and offshore team members across all work streams to ensure clarity on priorities, blockers, and deliverables. - Risk Management & Governance:
Capture, track, and drive resolution for all risks and issues via the risk and issue log. Enforce the RACI matrix and governance cadence to ensure decision-making and escalation paths are followed and documented. - Sprint Operations & Team Coordination:
Facilitate sprint planning and retrospective logistics, track velocity, and maintain backlog hygiene in the project management tool. Coordinate with offshore team leads on capacity, blockers, and status, escalating to the Program Manager when necessary. - Technology Implementation Alignment:
Coordinate directly with the technology implementation team on project-related topics, dependencies, and integration touchpoints, escalating program-level decisions as needed. - Reporting & Documentation:
Draft content for client-facing and internal status reports for Program Manager review. Maintain all program documentation—including meeting notes, decision logs, and delivery artifacts—ensuring assets remain current and accessible. - Onboarding, Scope & Readiness Support:
Coordinate system access, environment provisioning, and onboarding…
