Remote Lead DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Our client, a prominent leader in the cloud solutions space, is seeking an accomplished Remote Lead Dev Ops Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure initiatives. This position is fully remote, offering a unique opportunity to lead and innovate from any location in South Africa. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure-as-code. • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment and testing.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Develop and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Manage containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
• Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across all environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and efficient application deployment.
• Mentor and guide junior Dev Ops engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
• Define and enforce operational standards and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Dev Ops, Systems Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.
• Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, CircleCI).
• Expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Deep understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and monitoring tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
