DevOps Engineer

Our client, a fast-paced software development company, is looking for a skilled and motivated Dev Ops Engineer to join their expanding technical team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA , or other approved locations. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining the infrastructure and automation pipelines that enable rapid, reliable software delivery.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in systems administration, automation, cloud technologies, and CI/CD practices. You will work closely with development and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve system reliability, and ensure the efficient deployment of applications. If you are passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and fostering a collaborative Dev Ops culture, this role is for you.

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement and maintain containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Automate system administration tasks and operational processes.
• Monitor system health, performance, and security, and respond to incidents.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and performance.
• Implement security best practices throughout the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Document infrastructure, processes, and configurations.

• Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Azure Dev Ops.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
