- Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a professional services team that delivers infrastructure projects for hundreds of customers
- Work includes design input, new environment builds, troubleshooting, hardware rip-and-replace, and virtualization migrations (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Project delivery role, not ongoing environment maintenance
- Contract-to-hire or direct hire; remote
- 8–5 schedule with occasional after‑hours cutovers
- Strong experience level, roughly 10 years in infrastructure engineering
- Hands‑on experience building and migrating infrastructure environments from scratch (implementation and migration, not just administration)
- Virtualization migration experience (VMware, Hyper‑V, and/or Nutanix)
- Strong Active Directory and domain controller knowledge, plus experience in mapping application and service dependencies during migrations
- Working networking knowledge (top‑of‑rack switching, SAN/storage, and server connectivity)
- Able to recognize when to upscale or pull in a specialist (e.g., network engineer)
- Project‑based background at a VAR, IT engineering or solutions firm, or as an implementation contractor across multiple clients
- Comfortable with occasional after‑hours or weekend cutovers
- US work authorization, no sponsorship
- Able to pass a background check
- Certifications from VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft, Fortinet, Extreme, and/or Aruba (any combination; not all required)
- Storage and server hardware experience
- Generalist background spanning networking, server, storage, and Microsoft
- Experience helping customers with solution design and product selection
- Contract or consulting background with frequent project turnover
