Senior Business Analyst - Banking Systems

Our client, a leading player in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join their IT division in Polokwane, Limpopo . This role is central to bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, focusing on the analysis, design, and implementation of improvements to core banking systems. You will be responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and collaborating closely with development teams, QA testers, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for new banking system functionalities and enhancements.

• Support the testing process by developing test cases and validating system functionality against requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimizations within banking operations.
• Assist in project planning, scope management, and risk assessment.
• Provide training and support to end-users on new system functionalities.
• Contribute to the development of business cases and solution proposals.
• Ensure alignment of IT solutions with strategic business objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of core banking systems, processes, and terminology.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and modeling techniques (e.g., UML, BPMN).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in project management and business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio).
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is required.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the banking sector is an advantage.
