Remote IT Network Administrator

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and proactive Remote IT Network Administrator to manage and maintain their corporate network infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our client's network systems, supporting a distributed workforce. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of network protocols, hardware, and security best practices, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues independently.

• Administer, monitor, and maintain the company's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless networks.
• Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN devices.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Perform regular network performance monitoring, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or outages.
• Manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, and IP address allocation.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues for end-users and systems, providing timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Plan and execute network disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and security.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the IT team and end-users as needed.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT network administration and support.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), VLANs, and network security concepts.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba.
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, Solar Winds, PRTG).
• Experience in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or similar are highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a reliable home internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
• Residency in or near Polokwane, Limpopo is preferred for occasional on-site needs if they arise, but not mandatory for daily operations.
