About the Role Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in finance to join their cutting-edge, fully remote data science team. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve complex financial challenges. You will be instrumental in developing predictive models, optimizing financial strategies, and extracting actionable insights from vast datasets.

This is a remote-first position, requiring excellent self-management, collaboration, and communication skills. You will work with diverse data sources and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decision-making within a leading financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated machine learning models and statistical algorithms to address financial forecasting, risk assessment, fraud detection, and customer analytics.
• Analyze large, complex datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business value.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and data infrastructure required for model training and deployment.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of models and strategies.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through visualizations and presentations.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team s technical growth and best practices.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of data science initiatives within the organization.

Requirements

• Master s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a significant portion focused on financial applications.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning), and experimental design.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, Num Py, Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow/PyTorch) and SQL.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, markets, and risk management principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Superb communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote environment.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib) is a plus.
