AI Product Manager - Data Science Platforms

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary AI Product Manager to join their innovative team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is critical in defining and driving the product strategy for our client's cutting-edge data science and AI platforms. You will bridge the gap between our technical teams and market needs, ensuring that our products deliver significant value to data scientists, ML engineers, and business users.

This position requires a deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, product management best practices, and a passion for building intuitive and powerful tools. The role involves a Hybrid work arrangement, blending the collaboration of an office environment with the flexibility of remote work, centered around our Stellenbosch hub.

• Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI and data science platforms.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to identify opportunities and unmet needs.
• Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and product specifications.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Prioritize product backlog and manage development sprints to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features.
• Launch new products and features, working with marketing and sales to drive adoption.
• Monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on the product based on data and insights.
• Act as the voice of the customer and evangelize the product internally and externally.
• Stay abreast of industry trends in AI, machine learning, and data science platforms.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on AI, machine learning, or data science platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in defining product strategy, road mapping, and launching successful technology products.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and the end-to‑end data science lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with the technology landscape in Stellenbosch and surrounding areas is beneficial.
• Comfortable with a Hybrid work model, involving both office and remote collaboration.
