Project Manager - Financial Services Systems

Our client, a reputable financial institution, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation and upgrade of critical IT systems within their Welkom operations. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth running of core banking and financial services applications. The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of technology projects, from initial scoping and planning through to execution, testing, and deployment.

This position requires a deep understanding of financial systems, strong project management acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria for IT system implementation and upgrade projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, budget management, risk assessment, and timeline scheduling.
• Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and task execution.
• Oversee the procurement and integration of new software and hardware solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure deliverables meet contractual obligations and quality standards.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance of implemented systems before deployment.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide comprehensive reports to senior management and stakeholders.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• PMP or Agile certification is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on IT projects within the financial services industry.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software implementation or upgrade projects.
• Strong understanding of banking systems, trading platforms, or other financial service technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira) and familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
• Ability to manage project budgets and resources effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Welkom , with flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.
