Sr. Platform Engineer; Remote

Infotech is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer who is passionate about building solutions that improve the continuous delivery of the web applications and services that build our nation's roads and infrastructure. As a Sr. Platform Engineer, you will build and support the automated, self-service foundation that takes software from integration and testing through release, deployment, and ongoing operation. By administering cloud-based platforms, you'll serve as the liaison between engineers, IT, and external cloud providers, keeping deployments efficient, secure, and resilient.

• Partner with product engineering teams to design and deliver a scalable, highly available platform on AWS for our interdependent products and services.
• Build and maintain reusable, self-service tooling and standardized environments that make it easier and faster for developers to build, test, and ship.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning using scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS services.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain consistent development, test, and production environments that use resources efficiently across all commercial products.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability so we can see issues early, respond to alerts quickly, and keep service delivery seamless.
• Administer Linux-based systems and cloud networking, enforcing strong security across accounts, user permissions, and services.
• Keep systems healthy through backups, regular updates, and security patching, and monitor for vulnerabilities and intrusion.
• Identify risks in infrastructure designs and processes and communicate them to the right people, along with ideas for future improvement.
• Create clear technical documentation, and share new platform capabilities with product teams.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call troubleshooting when needed.

We are currently looking for engineers familiar with AWS, containerization, Terraform, and Linux, but we know that quality hires can learn new technology quickly, so don't be deterred if you're not an expert in every item below! You should have knowledge of and some experience in:
