Join QAA
QAA is the UK’s independent quality body for tertiary education. Our purpose is to ensure that students and learners experience the highest possible quality of education.
We are the UK’s authority on quality and standards, acting as custodian on behalf of the sector of reference points including the UK Quality Code for Higher Education, Subject Benchmark Statements, and the Frameworks for Higher Education Qualifications.
We work with governments, funding bodies and education providers across the UK and internationally to support and enhance quality and standards. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, we work collaboratively with the sector to meet the needs of each nation. In England, our membership programme provides resources and support to strategic leads, quality specialists and students and learners alike.
Internationally, we are recognised as one of the world's leading quality bodies, supporting the reputation and reach of UK tertiary education through global partnerships and transnational education.
About the role
Help shape the way QAA works as we deliver our digital transformation project. Joining our Digital Transformation team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, you will provide additional business analysis capacity to turn business needs into clear, practical requirements and support effective change.
Working closely with colleagues and technical teams, you will understand and improve business processes, develop requirements and functional specifications, and help ensure new solutions meet users’ needs through system and user testing. Your guidance and training will help colleagues adopt changes confidently, supporting QAA’s work to enhance the quality of tertiary education.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with the possibility of extension for up to a maximum of two years, subject to funding and business need.
About you
You will bring experience of IT and business analysis in an agile project environment, with the ability to understand complex problems and identify practical, cost-effective solutions. You are comfortable gathering requirements and user stories, mapping current and future processes, and working with business and technical colleagues to support testing and implementation. An IT business analyst qualification or equivalent relevant experience will equip you for the role.
You communicate clearly, make technical information accessible and facilitate productive conversations. You combine strong analytical skills with an organised, collaborative and adaptable approach, and enjoy helping others through guidance and training. You will contribute to a positive, inclusive remote working culture and bring a commitment to continuous improvement. Familiarity with Microsoft products, including Visio, Salesforce or SQL reporting would be helpful, but is not essential.
Working at QAA
We are a UK based remote first agency built on trust and flexibility, where we focus on outcomes rather than location. This supports strong delivery, collaboration and colleague wellbeing.
While most work is carried out remotely, there are occasional opportunities to come together in person for collaboration, engagement or specific activities where this adds value.
Recruitment process
