Market Facing Underwriter, Middle Markets (Mid-Senior or Senior) – Zurich North America

Zurich Middle Markets is seeking to hire an experienced Property & Casualty Underwriter in the Greenwood Village/Denver area. The role focuses on serving as a customer advocate, improving the customer experience by understanding unique risks and offering end-to-end solutions for Middle Markets P&C insurance needs.

• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, partners, and customers across industries to support business objectives.
• Leverage P&C underwriting expertise in risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
• Collaborate across business units (claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, technical underwriting) to gain knowledge in a growing and innovative industry.
• Use technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory.

Role may be filled at Mid-Senior or Senior Level. Hiring manager will determine level based on experience and qualifications.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 1+ year in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
• Knowledge of Property & Casualty lines and regulatory guidelines
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience with Microsoft Office

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

• Bachelor’s degree
• Established relationships with Property & Casualty broker partners
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• CPCU and ARM a plus

The combined salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $. Mid-Senior: $75,000.00 - $ with 10% short-term incentive;
Senior: $98,500.00 - $ with 15% short-term incentive. Compensation depends on location, role, skill set, and experience. This includes potential bonuses and merit increases. The salary is nationwide and not adjusted for geographic differentials.
