Mid‑Senior level, Middle Markets focus on financial institutions, general industries, manufacturing, technology, professional services, and real estate. You will manage a team of skilled Property & Casualty production Underwriters and a team in New York City. Expect to travel to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships. This is a critical role in driving an engaging team culture and requires a strong technical underwriting, staff development and sales execution mindset.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of Middle Market Underwriters in the Middle Market region.
- Oversee underwriting quality, risk selection, pricing, and portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to deliver client solutions.
- Manage travel to New York City and regional office locations to support teammates and build relationships.
- Drive a team culture of continuous improvement, sales execution and technical excellence.
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of underwriting or market‑facing experience (or 10+ years in claims / underwriting support). For AVP: 7+ years underwriting / market‑facing or 14+ years claims / support, plus 2+ years management experience.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with associate degree and 3+ years underwriting / market‑facing (or 8+ years claims / support) and 2+ years management (if applicable).
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree, CPCU, advanced product knowledge, strong communication, relationship building, presentation skills, negotiation, portfolio management, strategic planning.
Competitive total rewards including base salary range $141,400–$266,300, short‑term incentive bonuses (15–20% eligibility), relocation assistance, U.S. total rewards resources, merit increases and short‑term incentive bonus eligibility as part of the compensation structure.
