We are seeking a seasoned Senior General Liability Claims Analyst to join our in‑house Legal department. This role is responsible for independently managing and adjusting a wide range of general liability claims, including customer injury, property damage, and product liability matters. The ideal candidate will bring deep claims handling expertise, a customer‑centric approach, and a collaborative mindset to work cross‑functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• The ideal Sr. GL Claims Analyst is motivated, results‑oriented and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day in a self‑insured and self‑administered claims environment.
• Responsible for all aspects of claim handling including customer service, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and administration.
• Provides support for attorney‑represented pre‑litigation claims.
• Assists with other claims‑related support, investigations, regulatory matters, subpoenas, discovery, and invoicing.

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a general liability claims analyst/examiner.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in customer service.
• Knowledge of tort, contract/indemnity and insurance issues, as well as medical and legal terminology.
• Prior experience with self‑insured, self‑administered employers preferred.
• Strong computer skills with general understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, and other risk management or claims or legal document management systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom.
• Ability to take responsibility and exercise good judgment consistent with Nordstrom’s high ethical standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish working relationships with colleagues.
• Excellent time‑management skills, ability to manage a high‑volume case load and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven analytical and organizational skills with robust attention to detail.
• Strong professionalism, trustworthiness, and reliability.
• Ability to handle confidential information with respect and integrity.
• Expertise in working in a team environment and independently.

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.

California: $69,500–$132,000 Annually, Colorado: $69,500–$115,000 Annually, Connecticut: $69,500–$132,000 Annually, Hawaii: $69,500–$115,000 Annually, Illinois: $69,500–$115,000 Annually, Maryland: $69,500–$132,000 Annually, Massachusetts: $69,500–$132,000 Annually, Minnesota: $69,500–$115,000 Annually, Nevada: $69,500–$115,000 Annually, New Jersey: $80,000–$132,000 Annually, New York: $69,500–$132,000 Annually, Rhode Island: $69,500–$115,000 Annually, Washington: $69,500–$132,000 Annually, Washington D.C.: $80,000–$132,000 Annually.
