• Solicit accounts through select agents and brokers while serving as the primary contact
• Evaluate, underwrite, and price prospective accounts to select independent agents
• Analyze quality and quantity of risks underwritten, managing a book of business within authority levels
• Develop and maintain relationships with assigned accounts and agencies for optimal service
• Promote employer products and services to existing and potential customers

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, preferably in multi-line middle market underwriting
• Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts, terminology, and products
• Previous experience with underwriting large complex accounts
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Completion or in the process of taking insurance courses such as IIA and CPCU
• Experience handling accounts in construction, manufacturing, wholesale, real estate, and service industries
• Familiarity with selling methods and sales techniques
