The Property & Casualty, Commercial Lines Account Executive interacts with clients on a day‑to‑day basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. You will prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as renewals of assigned clients with supervision from your manager. You will manage a book of business comprised of middle markets to larger insurance clients, focusing on client retention and cross‑sell/account rounding.
You will be the liaison between the insurance company and designated middle‑market clients, managing relationships with Producers and/or Account Executives.
- Have P&C experience and an active P&C license.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance products including commercial auto, property, general liability, umbrella, inland marine, workers compensation, and flood.
This is a full‑time position, ideally working hybrid from our Charlotte, NC office. Remote options available for well‑experienced Commercial Lines candidates able to work on an EST schedule.
Job Goals- Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to customers worldwide.
- Increase revenue by rounding out commercial lines accounts and negotiating pricing and coverage terms.
- Develop relationships that lead to new business sales.
- Create complete marketing submissions, including gathering exposure data and researching property, vehicle, and equipment values.
- Review prior policies to analyze coverage gaps and enhance new business opportunities.
- Complete Acord applications, specialty applications, and supplemental applications for renewal and new business.
- Analyze historical data and claim history to discuss pricing and coverage options with carriers and clients.
- Assist carriers in their assessment of accounts and prepare client proposals reflecting accurate coverage terms and pricing.
- Collaborate with account assistants, managers, and Producers to meet client needs.
- Perform technical and clerical functions for the assigned book of business.
- Maintain proficiency in policy review, limits, coverages, program design, and excess & surplus lines placements.
- Prepare summaries, schedules, and proposals for account reviews.
- Coordinate service plans, diary alerts, and follow‑ups with clients and carriers.
- Analyze loss run and claim history reports.
- Pursue professional development opportunities, including continuing education and designations.
- Adhere to state laws and regulations regarding insurance agents.
- Assist with additional tasks as directed by agency management.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
- Attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Property and casualty insurance license required upon hire.
- Typically 5+ years of Commercial Lines and industry experience.
- Mastery of commercial insurance underwriting, coverage, and rate analysis.
- Deep knowledge of insurance coverages and ability to communicate clearly to clients and underwriters.
- Understanding of marketplace trends and best practices.
- Ability to prioritize and self‑manage workload.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Experience with EPIC or other CRM preferred.
