Underwriting Specialist / Executive Underwriter - Multinational

Zurich North America is looking for an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter to focus on Middle Market Multinational business. The position is available in the Central Region and offers a hybrid work model, with office days arranged by your manager to support you, our customers, brokers, and agents.

As a member of Zurich’s Underwriting Team, you will fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills, underwriting and analyzing new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts. This is a market‑facing role, expected to be visible in the marketplace 25% of the time.

• Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business.
• Manage production within the Middle Market Multinational division.
• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules.
• Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships in the West Region.
• Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing roles.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 1+ year of experience in underwriting or market‑facing roles.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 4+ years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of line(s) of business and legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing roles.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing roles.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 8+ years of experience in claims or underwriting support.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Multinational experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Pay is based on role, location, skills, and experience. Eligible for bonuses and merit increases. Salary ranges are $75,000–$165,000 nationwide. Underwriting Specialist range: $75,000–$125,000 (10% incentive). Executive Underwriter range: $98,500–$165,000 (15% incentive).
