Position Summary

Exercises independent discretion and judgement in claims handling involving complex liability issues, to include coverage issues and severe injury claims.

  • Remote, work-from-home position in Indiana.
  • The ideal candidate will live in the Indianapolis or Fort Wayne and surrounding areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations, evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage and liability.
  • Handle claims involving complex liability, damages or coverages.
  • Negotiate with all parties, or their representatives, within designated authority.
  • Document the file and submit reports.
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate appropriate action.
  • Complete required training.
  • Provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
  • Train and mentor.
  • Travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education al and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.

Additional Experience

  • Five years casualty claims adjusting experience or equivalent experience in the medical or legal field required.
  • Broad knowledge and expertise in the areas of liability coverages, laws and injuries required.
  • Position requires incumbents to provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
  • Travel for training may be required.

Designations and/or Licenses

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) program preferred.
